GENERAL

What is the date of the race? 

The date of the race is June 21, 2022. 

What time does the race start?  

6:45 P.M.

How early should I arrive? 

It is recommended that participants arrive at least 45 minutes prior to race start. More information on shuttles and parking coming soon.

Can I walk the race? 

Yes! Runners and walkers are both welcome, you will just need to enter in the back of the corral.

Is the race timed? 

Yes, results will be posted as they come in. Team scores will be released 2-4 weeks after the event.

Where should I park?

How will I get to the site?  

The event will provide shuttle bus service. Details coming soon.

Is there a bag check? 

No, there is no bag check. 

Can I exchange my t-shirt? 

T-shirt exchanges are subject to availability. 

Is there water along the course? 

Yes.

Are baby strollers, bikes, or scooters allowed in the race? 

No, for your safety and the safety of all participants, none are allowed in the race.

Are pets allowed in the race? 

No, pets are not permitted on the racecourse.

Is there a lost and found? 

Please see staff at the Information Tent for assistance. 

Who is the event beneficiary?

Why is it necessary for me to wear my bib? 
Bibs are our way of identifying you on the course and contain personal information in case of emergency.  

Bibs also contain a chip for timing purposes. 

Where should I place my bib? 
Your bib must be placed on the front of your torso on your outermost layer.

What if I lose or forget my bib?

If I cannot run can I transfer my bib? 
No, all bibs are personalized and are non-transferrable and non-refundable. 

 

When is Packet Pickup?

Packet Pickup is Monday, June 20 at Fleet Feet.

Can individuals pick up their race bibs? 

Corporate Teams Team Captains will be responsible for picking up their team's packet.

Unaffiliated Individual Runners will be responsible for picking up their individual packets.

REGISTRATION

What is the registration fee?  
The registration fee is $38 per runner.
A Team Creation fee of $25.00 also applies.

 

How can my company enter?  
Please click here to sign up as a captain and register your team. 

As a Team Captain, am I already registered for the race? 

No, Team Captains still need to register for the event if they wish to participate as they need to sign the waiver. 

Can we change Team Captains? 

Certainly – send us an email and we will be sure to change the captain of your team.

Can our team have more than one captain?
Yes, captains have the ability to set and work with co-captains.

If my team captain has registered my spot, do I need to register myself? 
Yes, each runner must register with their team and sign the waiver themselves for legal and safety purposes. 

Can my family members register for the event?
Yes, family members are eligible to register based on company preference.
Note: family members are not eligible for team awards.

 

Can I register as an individual? 
Yes, the race welcomes both company teams and individual runners.

Are wheelchairs permitted in the race?

Is my entry fee tax-deductible? 
No. Entry fees are paid to the event owner, not directly to the beneficiary.  The event owner, not the participant, makes the donation to the beneficiary. 

 

What are the payment options for teams?

There are two options: companies can pay for their participants or have their participants pay for themselves. If companies pay for their participating runners, they can elect to pay the full amount or a portion of the registration fee. Companies can pay via credit card or check. Checks should be written to "Blue Penguin Productions" and mailed to:

Are there refunds on registration? 
The Syracuse Workforce Run is a rain or shine event, so no refunds will be issued.
Event owners reserve the right to delay, postpone, cancel, or not officially time the race in the event of adverse weather conditions or conditions beyond control. The determination of what constitutes adverse weather conditions is reserved solely to the event's owners and entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable, even in the event of cancellation.

Is race day registration an option? 
No, registration closes on June 7, 2022.

What are the benefits of reserving space in the Team Gathering Area?

-Exclusive location to warm up pre-race as well as celebrate your team’s accomplishments post-race.

-Get to know your teammates outside of the office. 

-Enjoy your pre-ordered food and drink options before and after the race. 

-Corporate networking: an opportunity to meet people from other companies 

 

What are the costs for Tent Packages?

Tent Packages range from $295 - $1,500. Cost breakdowns for tent packages and equipment are provided here.

 

What is a Picnic Area and what are the costs? 

Picnic Areas are an uncovered space furnished with a table with a 6’ rectangular table and a sign with your company name. We offer several Picnic Area options depending on the size of your team. Cost breakdowns for picnic areas are provided here.

 

If my company does not want to reserve a Tent Package or Picnic Area, but still wants to meet in Onondaga Lake Park, can we pick our own, separate space in the park? 

No. Onondaga Lake County Parks has issued a special events permit including the Team Gathering Area exclusively to the Syracuse WorkForce Run. 

We encourage all companies to reserve space in our Team Gathering Area.

 

Can we bring our own tent, tables, chairs, grills, etc.?

No. Your company may enter and run the race without taking part in hospitality; however, pop up tents, tables, outside furniture and picnicking will not be permitted. 

 

What is a preferred caterer?

Syracuse WorkForce Run preferred caterers will have direct access to park grounds on event day to serve those who order from them.

Are outside caterers permitted in Onondaga Lake Park?

Teams are permitted to organize catering from outside vendors. Catering companies will have access to Onondaga Lake Park between the hours of 1:00PM – 4:00PM on race day. Team Captains must share their caterer’s contact information (Catering Company, Phone Number, Email Address) with the Race Organizers by June 7, 2022, at info@SYRWFR.com

 

Are food trucks permitted?

No, food trucks are not allowed.

 

Are we allowed to grill in our tent or picnic area?

No. Grilling is not permitted in your tent or picnic area. Only preferred onsite caterers will be permitted to grill in Onondaga Lake Park.

 

What hours are the hours of operation for the Team Gathering Area? 

5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 

 

What is the deadline for submitting our Tent Suite or Picnic Area reservation request?

The deadline to reserve your tent package and/or additional furniture is Tuesday, May 31.

AWARDS

When is the awards ceremony? 
The largest team will be recognized at the Start Line prior to the race. The Top Three Male & Female finishers and Fastest Male and Female Captains will be recognized as they come across the finish line. 
Team awards will be sent out once they are scored and verified approximately 2-4 weeks post race.

 

How can I get my individual results?
Unofficial individual results will be available live on race night. Official results will be updated within 48 hours of the event. Team results will be available once scoring teams have been submitted and verified. 


I have a question about my results – who should I contact? 
If you have any questions about your results, please email Info@SYRWFR.com with your full name and bib number as well as issue and we will look into it and get back to you. 

 

How does scoring work?

A company must enter a minimum of 3 men or 3 women in order to be included in the Company Team Scoring. Company teams will be scored in finishing order, utilizing their official race times, in both the Men's and Women's team scoring divisions. The top 3 male finishers from each company team will be automatically combined to score as that company's Men's team. The top 3 female finishers from each company team will be automatically combined to score as that company's Women's team. Companies may enter as many team members as they wish. Only employees of the company are eligible for scoring teams; interns, contract employees, and family members are not eligible for team scoring. There will also be an award for the largest Company Team
 

How will awards and results be compiled? 
The top 3 Overall Male and top 3 Overall Female finishers and Fastest Male and Female Company Captains will receive awards on race night.
The top 3 Men’s and Women’s Teams will also receive awards once all information has been verified approximately 2-4 weeks post race. ​
